As we truly enter autumn, we thought it’s high-time we unveil some more exciting titles from the Abertoir 2021 programme – and this is the first of many incoming festival updates!
Read on to find out the first two title revelations from the virtual part of our festival, two big new additions to the physical programme and another very special classic.
Jane Schoenbrun’s haunting WE’RE ALL GOING TO THE WORLD’S FAIR follows a shy teen as she finds herself immersed in an online role-playing game; and Naeri Do’s remarkable TRANS chronicles a bullied girl’s attempts to achieve transhumanism via electric shock to the brain. Both films will screen during the online part of Abertoir 2021.
Two long-awaited films from this year’s festival circuit join the physical programme - Valdimar Jóhannsson’s LAMB, starring Noomi Rapace; and Julia Ducournau’s TITANE, her follow-up to the sensational Raw.
Last time we revealed the European premiere of Vinegar Syndrome’s restoration of Flesh for Frankenstein – and we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll also be screening Severin’s recent restoration of BLOOD FOR DRACULA alongside it in a Paul Morrisey double-bill!
We know you’re all champing at the bit for more news – keep an eye out soon for the long-awaited festival pass information, our guest of honour announcement and news of our rather delicious opening film.
Abertoir Horror Festival runs 2-7 November in Aberystwyth and 12-14 November online via Eventive.
