Abertoir 2018 Winners!

We think it’s fair to say that Abertoir 2018 proved to be one of the biggest and best yet – and we’re still recovering! But it’s about time we wrapped things up on the year with the festival’s winners. Keep an eye out soon for more news to come of the incredible fundraising that happened at the festival this year, but for now read on for the winners…

The winner of the Melies d’Argent and the Abertoir Short Film prize this year is Jonas Gramming’s Skickelsen! Skickelsen will now go on to compete with all other 2018 Méliès d’Argent winners for the prestigious Méliès d’Or next year. huge congratulations to Jonas, Mickael and the whole team!

Topping the feature films were Friday the 13th, appropriately scoring highest amongst the classics, while the top rated new feature film at Abertoir 2018 was the unstoppably brilliant One Cut of the Dead, which will be on release in UK cinemas soon thanks to Third Window Films, so be sure to tell all your friends…!

Congratulations to all the filmmakers who were part of our programme this year and thanks to everyone who attended and supported the festival. We’d thank each of you individually, but, well, we’ve got another festival to start thinking about…
