SUBMISSIONS FOR FEATURESDeadline Aug 5th 2011We will not be charging a submission fee, but ask that the film screener be sent to us on DVD (although for public screening we will accept 35mm, DCP (Digital Cinema), Digibeta or DVD). We are looking for professionally made features for inclusion in our lineup. From independent to big budget studio films, we will be screening a massive selection during the festival's run and welcome submissions from all over the world. While budget does not matter, we are looking for talent and professionally made productions. Previous selections such as COLIN, UMBRAGE and RESURRECTING THE STREET WALKER have all found sales agents from inclusion in Abertoir's program.

Shorts should be no longer than 15 minutes and be current (ie made in 2010 or 2011).
The Méliès d'Or
We are proud to be part of the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation, and eligable short films will be competing towards a nomination for the Méliès d'Or, the Award for the Best European Fantastic Short Film, to be awarded at the Sitges festival in Spain. To be eligible, short films must be under 15 minutes, made in 2010 or 2011, be European and cover fantasy or horror.
Abertoir Short Film Competition
There will be an award for the best overall short film shown (covering both European and International entries). Audience members will be asked to rate each film shown on a scale of 1 to 5. Whether independent or big budget, we are looking for professionally made entries for inclusion in our lineup. Fantasy as well as horror will be considered.
